NORTH POLE ANIMAL IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION

Polar bear

They are solitary animals, experts in energy conservation, and their main food is seals. They were "models" of Coca Cola and give the feeling of being "warm", living in the North Pole.
these animals share the sad record of having been built for the first time on the "red list" of endangered species.

The figures give terror. The polar bear is one of the most visible victims of global warming, and that this phenomenon is melting the poles, where it is expected that the summer sea ice will fall between 50 and 100% over the next 50-100 years.
In fact, it is predicted that more than 30% of the polar bear population will decline over the next 45 years, as these animals depend on Arctic ice floes to hunt seals, and are highly specialized to live in Arctic marine environments.
Polar bears, which in the past were listed as species "conservation dependent", have now entered into the categories of endangered, being classified as "vulnerable".
In the previous report, in 2004, found 15 000 589 endangered species, after evaluating 40 000 177 species (including the 1.9 million that have been identified in the world). However, now the number is 16 000 119 species! ... in two years increased dramatically the number of animal and plant species at risk of extinction.
Further discloses that the total number of officially declared extinct species is 784 and there are other 65 to be found only in captivity or cultured.

EXPLOITATION OF OIL IN THE NORTH POLE
IS A THREAT TO THE ECOSYSTEM?

Environmental organizations warn of the dangers of a possible oil spill in that area, which has a very sensitive ecosystem. According to a U.S. government report. UU., Oil accident in the Chukotka Sea, off the coast of Alaska, could release a huge amount of oil, a catastrophe whose dimensions far outweigh the capabilities that the industry has to combat its devastating effects.  In late April, Greenpeace activists occupied an oil rig near the city of Istanbul to be transported to Greenland to conduct test excavations in the deep sea commissioned by Scottish company Cairn Energy Plc.

Research on ecosystem problems

Now it gets a lot more attention to investigate the region prior to increased economic exploitation, said the expert, adding that it is necessary to thoroughly investigate the ecosystem in which they are carried such enterprises. "We need to better understand the mechanism of the seas and the environment, critical baseline data to address potential oil spills and other problems in the Arctic waters," he explains.
The Arctic is overheated twice the speed with which it does the rest of the planet, and every time it becomes less likely that the research will be keep up with the exploitation of the resources of that region.
Aqqualuk Greenlandic Lyng is the president of the Inuit Circumpolar Council, warning that there consider sustainability in the exploitation of the Arctic. Lynge criticized the speed at which development proceeds, and says it is doubtful that actually provided the technological capabilities to drill in Arctic waters without affecting sea lions and whales that live there.
The exploitation of oil radically affect the ecosystem

The signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in Aviation, Maritime Search and Rescue in the Arctic is not sufficient to ensure security by expanding the extraction and transportation of oil in the region, says Frida Bengtsson, Norwegian offices of Greenpeace: "In my opinion, it is the greatest immediate threat to the arctic ecosystem, "he says. The oil combustion also implies that long-term pollutes the atmosphere, which would accentuate the effects of climate change.
Faced with a possible bad result against assessments Investigation Department of the Interior U.S. and be aware that their platforms are broken and no longer came to be repaired in time to drill this year, Shell management did the only I could: pull the plug before it was pulled by them.

So what does this mean for the Arctic? This means another year for indigenous communities to fish and hunt and live off the land, without fear of an impending disaster. A year for the narwhals can swim in the pristine waters. For polar bears and their cubs can live freely.

FAUNA OF THE NORTH POLE

The incredibles adaptations, particularities and beauty of the north pole animals are the best reason to protect them.

Adaptations of polar animals are very evident in the morphological level, from the color of the coat, until your metabolism has been modified to withstand the very strong conditions to  difference from many other animals and organisms in the world.
The white furs, dark skins and thick feet are some of the specializations that these animals have suffered, these are the result of the convergence of evolutive characters and specific evolutionary pressure.
The arctic animals have undergone a modification in their metabolism and they can adapted to survive extended periods of drought and hungry, so that in periods of abundance are able to collect and consume a huge amount of food.

What is the NORTH POLE?

we can describe the north pole from multiple perspectives, first we can describe it from the geological perspective, the north pole is the area ubicated in the polar artic circle, is a part of nine countries, don't have land, is only ice and ocean.

Now we can describe the north pole from the biological perspective. Is a exotic fauna sacntuary, a place where the especialized animal live. The north pole have the most extreme conditions in the earth, is a zone where the water is scarce and the climate is ruthless. we can find there a big number of species in extinct danger, is a zone that need help and care, where we can find a future of discoveries.

And, what about antropologic-economic perspective?
For some countries and companies, the north pole isa place where we can dettect sources for the industry, a place where we can discover and exploit the mineral and hydrocarbons for the "progress" of the society.
The most importan place where we can find the black gold that is so necessary for the everyday life.
